Comunicado n. 3 de 28/11/2007 - REVOGADA PELA RN 33

Communication No. 03 of November 27th, 2007.

The National Technical Biosafety Commission - (CTNBio), in
the use of its attributions established on Decree 5.591 of
November 22nd, 2005, that regulates dispositions of Law No.
11.105 of March 24th, 2005, and in accordance with
deliberation on the 108th CTNBio Ordinary Meeting, that
took place on November 22nd, 2007, determines the
following:
Since there is no scientifically founded evidence of
occurrence of synergistic effects among transgenic
organisms that determine intolerance to herbicides and
resistance to insects from genes derived from Bacillus
Thuringiensis, regarding biosafety issues, when found in
only one individual by sexual crossing, the approval for
the use of this GMO in research in contention and in
planned releases will follow the simplified norm in force,
in case there has already been analysis and approval of
research or planned release with each of the events
independently.
